The purpose of this fund is to provide emergency stabilization or relief
from suffering for injured stray animals. Donations can be made at the
front desk. You can also make a donation in memory of one or more of
your pets. A display board is posted in the lobby for pictures of those
pets. If you would like to make a donation in memory of a special pet
place a picture of the pet (write your pet’s name on back) along with
your donation in an envelope or give it to one of our staff or place
it in the compassion fund jar. Any size donations are welcome. Memorial
donations can also be made in memory of a loved one who has passed away.
We appreciate your support of this worthy cause. Occasionally the animals
that have benefited from this fund will be up for adoption when an owner
cannot be located. Please let us know if you are interested in adopting
a pet.
Hi!
My name is Wishbone and I am the FIRST DPVC Clinic Cat! I became this
in a round-about way-so here is my story. I came to DPVC on August 12th,
2003 with a nice lady and her children. They thought I may have been
thrown from a car as they found me in a ditch all alone, weak, sick,
and wounded. They could not keep me but wanted me to get medical attention
so they brought me to Deer Park Veterinary Clinic. The compassion fund
is for just this purpose and I thank all of you who have donated to
it!
Dr. Dennis and his staff checked me out and x-rayed me. They found
that I had been shot! My fractured leg required surgery and a surgical
pin but they left the bullet in me. I also had an upper respiratory
infection and was very dehydrated and thin. I've improved so much that
the pin has now been removed and I am very healthy. I had another surgery-something
about "tootering" and now I feel sooooo much more relaxed.
I will need one more surgery on my cleft palate, but don't worry, I
am eating and drinking fine now and can honestly say I have improved
100% and I am so very much loved! I enjoy my daily outings and I wear
a special bell on my collar so people will always know where I am. Hopefully
I can become an excellent mouser so I can repay Dr. Dennis and his staff.
Oh yes, I almost forgot to tell you what I look like in case you're
in the clinic someday and would like to say "Hi". I'm a beautiful
orange tabby male with a bright green and blue collar (and bell). I
have short hair, and a very long tail.
Thank-you for caring for your animals! Even though we can't talk to
you, we can communicate and love you each and every day!
